Gerald Finley as J. Robert Oppenheimer gives a riveting performance of what I think is one of the most stunning arias John Adams has ever written...the text, the contrast of the vocal with orchestra...wow. His singing of the last verse gives me chills!! But Sherrill Milnes runs them close on both counts (especially his brilliant 1978 live performance of "Si Puo" uploaded by orestis23). My video here is for two main reasons: The studio sound quality is good and I have been able to put sub-titles (my Italian is very weak).
