Early performance of their song at the Dutch absurdity show Discohoek from Wim T. Schippers I added some annotations for your viewing experience ... This quickly made B-side eventually sold over nine million copies In this little flick the host of the show, Sjef van Oekel (roughly translated Van Doofus), is welcoming them in gibberish - Chinese, which Carl doesn't seem to understand since to Sjef´s big surprise he speaks English ... In the middle of the clip Dolf shamelessly celebrates the 12½ anniversary of their program, but sidekick Evert van der Pik (van der Dick) prefers buttermilk ... The rest speaks for itself, hopefully

Douglas Adams was the best-selling British author and satirist who created The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. In this talk at UCSB recorded shortly before his death, Adams shares hilarious accounts of some of the apparently absurd lifestyles of the world's creatures, and gleans from them extraordinary perceptions about the future of humanity. Frank Zappa at The Mike Douglas Show (November 1976). Hosted by Mike Douglas with Jimmie Walker. Mr. Zappa perform "Black Napkins" from "Zoot Allures" album (he plays in the studio with the show band). Please note that the quality of this video isn't that great. So in order to keep the continuity I had to cut several seconds. For any incorrect information, please notify me. enjoy

On December 9, 1968, Douglas C. Engelbart and the group of 17 researchers working with him in the Augmentation Research Center at Stanford Research Institute in Menlo Park, CA, presented a 90-minute live public demonstration of the online system, NLS, they had been working on since 1962. The public presentation was a session in the of the Fall Joint Computer Conference held at the Convention Center in San Francisco, and it was attended by about 1,000 computer professionals. This was the public debut of the computer mouse. But the mouse was only one of many innovations demonstrated that day, including hypertext, object addressing and dynamic file linking, as well as shared-screen collaboration involving two persons at different sites communicating over a network with audio and video interface. Douglas Adams sits down for what is most likely his last television interview in May of 2001. The interview was conducted in California just days before his tragic passing. Story directed and edited by Barton Bishoff. I really wish I could have set up better lighting for the interview. In fact, I did! The PR folks at the building where the interview was conducted made me take down the lights, leaving me with only a camera-mounted light to use and those really don't produce good results.

Douglas Adams talks about how our nature as an evolved creature and our limited perspective, can lead to some fundamental assumptions and misconceptions. Most of the talk is included, but a few minutes were taken out to fit it to two clips. Image quality isn't great, and the source video isn't much better. From a conference in 1998 called Der Digitale Planet (The Digital Planet, I guess), which also included Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, Jared Diamond and Steven Pinker. 10th round Mike Tyson vs Buster Douglas. No one gave James Buster Douglas much of a chance when he faced Iron Mike Tyson on February 11, 1990, in the Tokyo Dome. Tyson was at that point considered the pound-for-pound best boxer on the planet and was seemingly invincible due to his utter domination of the division.
